I don’t know that I have ever heard a more precise description of Systemic Constellation Work. These words come from Bert Hellinger the originator of Family Constellation Work.

“With 88 years I am still not tired of opening myself to the new.  Life is exciting and fascinating. The new keeps me in movement and leads me to another new and demands a constant openness of me. Resistance is loyalty to the old and prevents development. Every expectation is thus linked to something already known. 
Only what shakes me to the core leads me onward. 
The rigidity breaks, growth follows.
In the end we can only marvel at where we find ourselves. The new may be new to us, yet is has been there all the time"

Science is exploring the deep effect of exclusion in our lives. The results of this new research is indicating that exclusion causes the same chemical reaction in the brain as physical pain. This is not surprising to us in the field of Systemic Family Constellation Work. In our practice we observe that the pain of exclusion is at the source of many of our current day issues. The consequences have a lasting effect that are passed on from one generation to the next. The Constellation process is the healing experience of inclusion, reconnecting to that which has been excluded. 

Through countless thousands of Constellations worldwide, we have observed that  events in a family's past that caused a shock or trauma, create a conscious or unconscious exclusion. This exclusion or disconnection originates in the emotional overload during a traumatic experience or heartbreaking event. When there is an overwhelming flood, disconnecting or damming it up is a first, life-saving step. Often, however this is passed on through the generations, the mechanisms become conditioned patterns of response and are maintained, and expressed in our current day issues. This connects us to our family as an unconscious form of love, but also serves to separate at the same time.

This movement of disconnection may have been lifesaving in the past, but we experience it as life challenging now.

Examples of Exclusion revealed and healed with Systemic Family Constellation Work 

• A  a man's issue with his wife and children is revealed to connect to his great-grandfather participation in WWII. To have your comrades die around you while you survive is a burden that many can not bear. The event was too difficult to speak of, therefore excluded. 

• The Constellation reveals a mothers concern for her  anxiety ridden son is connected to her grandmother's brother suicide. That event was too painful, and considered shameful not to be  spoken of, therefore excluded. 

• A client's long term health issue is revealed to be connected to grandparent's family involvement in war. Many of the family where killed, the grandparents left their homeland and the unspoken story behind.

• The Constellation reveals a clients intimacy issues is connected to the Great grandmother that lost three young children. With each loss the grandmother's heart closed to protect itself. This excluded her connection to the lost ones, and her other children from the awareness of their siblings.
  

The longing to belong, be included, and acknowledged is a basic human need. Inclusion is the first act to reestablishing harmony, and a most import step to wholeness and well being.

Inclusion always brings strength to the generation in which the exclusion, or painful event occurred, allowing the reconnection to the natural flow of love in a family system. This unburdens the following generations and frees one to take their authentic place in life. Unconscious love is transformed to conscious love, and the burden becomes the blessing.

I continue to be thrilled at how science is backing up the practice and effects of our work. For those of us in the field of Systemic Family Constellation Work we have experienced the "teleportation of energy" during the process of the Constellation, specifically in the outcomes and evolving results.

An example of this may look  like the client who was given up for adoption 35 years ago, and receives a call from their long lost mother a week after doing a Constellation, now ready to reach out and take responsibility. Or the client who’s Constellation is done for a sibling in a hospital in another state that has not been cognitive for a week, after a brain aneurism. The client returns home after the workshop in time to get a call from the spouse of the sibling, stating, at the time we were doing the Constellation on the other side of the country, the sibling awoke, asked for a pen and paper and started writing notes for the family.

These are amazing and true examples of the Systemic Constellation Work that shows our connection even when we have no idea of what that connection may be. What the physicists would call the Entanglement Theory. Also, what I find fascinating is their term of "entanglement". It is the same term that has been used in Systemic Family Constellation Work since its inception, decades ago. In the Constellation Work this entanglement points to where we are connected, and therein lies the healing solution.
